We, the members of Imago Foundation for the Arts, are horrified, outraged and heartbroken by the senseless brutal murders of black men and women by police officers.  We acknowledge that as an organization we have grown comfortable with our white privilege and have not listened to our fellow citizens who face racism on a daily basis nor fully addressed what we as a local arts organization can do to create a safe, respectful space that is open and responsive to diverse voices and perspectives.

We commit to continuing these conversations within our organization as well as with other artists and cultural organizations, working together to create opportunities for under-represented artists.  It will take all of us working together to dismantle the centuries of systemic racism and white supremacy that enables violence and brutality to fuel a groundswell of injustice which has for too long devastated our communities and nation.
