Regional Call for Art: Nocturnal
Imago Foundation for the Arts (IFA) invites submissions for artwork for an upcoming regional exhibition titled “Nocturnal” that will be on view at Imago Gallery June 20–July 18, 2026. The exhibition opens with a complimentary public reception on Saturday, June 20.
This special exhibit is designed as a precursor to IFA’s annul “Starry Night” fundraiser that will be held this year on Saturday, July 18 at the Bristol Yacht Club in nearby Bristol, RI. More details about this special evening and a drawing for an opportunity to attend will be shared as part of the “Nocturnal” exhibit.
Work must demonstrate a thoughtful engagement with the concept of things nocturnal. Submissions may engage with night literally or symbolically—through landscapes, interiors, figures, dreams, rituals, city life, natural cycles, or inner psychological states. All media except screen-based work are welcome, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, photography, and mixed media.
The juror is Leigh Tarentino, Associate Professor of Visual Art at Brown University, with a Master of Fine Arts, Painting & Printmaking from Rhode Island School of Design and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Kansas City Art Institute.
Selected artworks will be exhibited alongside IFA's stable of exhibiting artists, and regional poets whose poems are selected to be part of the exhibition. Cash awards sponsored by the Jay Barry Cultural Arts Foundation in Warren will be awarded.

Submitting artists must be at least 18 years of age. All submissions must be made through Online Juried Shows by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2026. The fee is $25 for one work and $35 for two works of art. IFA will retain a 40% commission on artwork sold during the exhibition. All artwork must be original, for sale, and accurately represented by the images submitted.
Accepted work must be hand-delivered to IMAGO Gallery, 36 Market Street, Warren, RI, 02885, from noon – 4 PM on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Work must arrive ready to install, with any special instructions included. All artwork must be picked up at the close of the exhibit on Sunday, July 19, noon – 4 PM.
